Cas - Raise The Odds

The brief

Millennium Promise is a non profit organization that wants to eliminate poverty by the year 2020. They came to Hyper Island for new ideas on how to get more micro donation.

The idea

A mirco donation is equal to saving 1 life from poverty. So we asked ourselves: how can we give the donator a sense that he saved a life?

The concept

We came up with a smartphone app that places an "Odd" in your phone. You are responsible to raise it for the first few days. Once it gets born, it keeps you up to date on Millennium Promise's missions.

The result

Although the app needed some improvement, the idea of connecting a micro donation to an Odd in your phone was happily accepted.

Your odd

This small creature, called an Odd, is what you get for giving a micro donation to Millenium Promise. For the first coming days, it will live in your phone.

Raising your odd

You'll have to feed it clean it, play with it, entertain it... In general it needs good care.

Saying bye bye...

Right before your Odd gets born out of your phone, you can take a last picture with him as a memory.

Keeping in touch

Once the Odd is born, it leaves your phone and keeps you up to date on Millenium Promise's missions.

Behind the scenes

The idea of Raise The Odds came very late in the process, but we had a lot of fun working it out. We made the creatures in clay, and modeled them in 3D accordingly.
